Straightening Your Teeth Discreetly With Clear Aligners

It’s often thought that braces are the most effective and time-efficient way of straightening teeth and producing an attractive smile, however, these days other alternatives like ClearCorrect clear aligners are giving you the benefit of choice. Everyone deserves a beautiful smile they can be proud of. Now there is a new alternative to traditional braces called ClearCorrect. These see-through aligners are comfortable, removable and best of all, nearly invisible when being worn. Clear aligners have the ability to treat a wide variety of dental problems, including an overbite, crowding, mid-line misalignment, over jet and spacing. Straighter teeth work better as well as look better. If you were to remain with poorly aligned teeth, bite function can be interfered with; the teeth can wear out faster and are at a higher risk of cavities. There are benefits to choosing clear aligners over traditional metal braces:

  • Being practically invisible, no one would know that you had clear aligners on your teeth
  • The aligners are removable; therefore, when eating, there is no risk of having food become trapped between the wires and brackets (often experienced with braces)
  • Clear aligners are more comfortable and cause fewer issues with your speech than traditional metal braces

How does it work?

Initially, your dentist will create a record of your current dental position, including x-rays, photos, impressions and scans of your teeth. These will be used to determine the movements required to achieve the desired results and ensure that you are a suitable candidate for ClearCorrect aligners. Once this is confirmed, your information is sent to a lab, where 3D models of your mouth will be created. These models will be used to make a series of clear plastic aligners that are specifically tailored to fit your teeth. The aligners will purposely target particular teeth, as selected by your dentist, with the pressure slowly moving the teeth into alignment. The most up-to-date technology is used to design and manufacture the aligners to make sure the teeth are shifted correctly into their ideal positions. You wear the ClearCorrect aligners for 22 hours per day, and periodically your dentist will assess your progress and give you the next set of aligners approximately every 2 weeks. The treatment times will vary, depending on the severity of the case. Some treatments may take a short amount of time, like 5 months, whereas more complex treatments may take quite a bit longer, perhaps up to 2 years. The results, however, will start to be seen soon after the treatment begins.
