The Diagnodent dental laser emits light at a wavelength that makes bacteria and demineralised teeth glow. This helps us to detect tooth decay before it really gets started. At the same time your family's exposure to radiographs is reduced.

Early detection means we can stop damage before it becomes a problem. Your family will end up keeping better teeth. At the same time, you'll end up keeping more money in your wallet.

The measurements we take are recorded. They are then checked again at each of your preventative care appointments. This will show us if the demineralisation is worse and if further treatment is needed.

At Vision Dental we believe that it is very important for patients to have regular complete oral evaluations, not only to maintain oral health but to diagnose possible risks and issues that will cause problems in the future.

 

Our complete oral evaluation involves a visual examination of your mouth looking not only at your teeth but also your gums, soft tissue (cancer screen), bone levels, joints and muscles.

 

This may require digital images (radiographs) where it can be difficult to diagnose visually between the teeth, around existing restorations, any pre-existing treatments to the nerves of your teeth, bone, gums and to gain a better understanding of the facial structures.

 

Once all this information is gathered from your oral examination, a thorough explanation of dental treatment and options will be explained so that you can make an informed decision that best suits your circumstances.

 

Time is taken to carefully create a treatment plan and further appointments that are individually tailored to you.  We encourage your family to attend for routine examinations as early diagnosis of dental issues usually result in more conservative treatments.
